I'm in!
They love me! I hadn't been in the interview for five minutes before they said, "You'll be great! We're very excited to have you here!"
I'll be starting school in June. My endorsements will be in Biology and Advanced Math, which they say is in such high demand that there are not enough teachers in Oregon qualified to fill all the jobs. (Calculus, I guess, isn't that exciting to teach.) I expressed interest in switching from Bio to Integrated Science (kind of a miscellaneous thing), and they said they'll try to work something out that I can get three endorsements, even though, they said, "It's never been done before." Um, whoa! That would mean I can teach all high school and junior high math, PLUS almost all the sciences. I am very very very excited. Very. Excited.
Please, celebrate with me!

funny, You don't seem like the typical math/science teacher ;)
congrats!
I take it that English teachers are everywhere, dropping themselves about?
Are you going to teach about dinosaurs?
One more: is this a one year program? In one year you'll be on the loose, corrupting our state's youth with electricity and eels? I think I was thinking of electric eels just now, but you never know.
It's not electric eels you have to worry about corrupting youth. It's those damn dinosaurs.
And yes, I will probably teach them. Who knows. I'll first be teaching Algebra, most likely... then switch to science once I have my foot in the door. Last year, 8 months before the program ended, the math teachers had already been snatched up! So, in just a few months, I might have a job lined up, and next April, I'll have a degree. Eep! (And yes, English is the most popular subject to teach. I considered it, until I realized with math/science I'd be fought over. Whoo hoo!)
bascially, you rock!
Woo hoo! Congratulations! I'm so happy for you!
Very happy for you Audrey! After having the pleasure of seeing your teaching skills in action I know that you will be an unforgettable teacher. Will you be able to work Mr. T into the curriculum?
YAHOO!!!
It worked! You lived into it as if it was already happening! This is so so so exciting. I REJOICE with you!
I love you, friends! Yes, Mr. T will be present... if not on tv, then at least in our hearts... It's been a strange journey for me, going from studying to be a counselor, to being a math teacher! Thank you all for your support!
congratulations, audrey!! this is so super! i'm glad we're most likely moving back to portland, you can be our kids awesome math/science teacher! that's a really, really, really cool idea!
Congrats, Aud!

Don't take it the wrong way, but I thought of you when I saw this on the news. Then again, maybe you wouldn't like one. Now, a tarantula, on the other hand...
