Sweet.
ha ha! I'm curious... how exactly do they plan to enforce the "chill out" rule? Will they write a definitions document that details behaviors that count as "chilling out" and "not chilling out?" Will they punish the not chilled out? Won't that make the unchilled even more anxious? My legal mind can't stop thinking about the funny possibilities here...
Remember this post come mid-year when the little monsters are driving you crazy. Like when they start telling YOU to chill out. I'm glad your year started out well.
The "chill out" rule applies just as much to me as anyone else, and I'm counting on them to remind me of it! You'd be amazed at what peer pressure can do to a student's behavior: Johnny is whiny and complaining because he doesn't like his group. Other class members point to sign and tell Johnny to chill out and get over it. Johnny listens more to peers than to teacher, and shuts up.
Seriously, it works. And they all pretty much "get" what "chilled out" means... and if they forget, I provide gentle reminders. :)
i like this rule. this should be the rule of the universe.
